One of the highlights had to be watching the Humpback Whales in the Lynn Canal out of Juneau. At the time of our visit in August 2009 pods of whales were actively involved in bubblenet fishing or simply enjoying themselves by leaping out of the water. The group included a mother and calf (photo above on left) |

There were Black Bears at the Mendenhall Glacier near Juneau and Otters at Victoria in British Columbia and Harbour Seals on the Ice and shore |
